POEM- BETRAYAL : A POETIC REFLECTION OF THE FRAGILITY OF TRUST

The Fragility of Trust : Betrayal and Altruism

This poem is about how fragile a trust is. It feels like a reflection of your own thoughts and emotions. It refers to occasions when you’ve known someone for years and yet still have doubts about their trustworthiness. It’s about those times when a stranger’s compassion catches you off guard and leaves you feeling suspicious rather than relieved. You’ve experienced betrayal, haven’t we all?-and it’s made your guard your heart, unsure of anyone, including yourself.

The poem expresses your wish for a simpler time, one in which compassion was not questioned and trust was not a gamble. It reminds you of how much we’ve changed-how uncommon selflessness now seems, almost too good to be true. Deep down, you wonder: What if life was different? What if we could?

BETRAYAL : THE POETIC REFLECTION OF FRAGILITY OF TRUST

Why there is so much anonymity,
Why there is much skepticism.
Though you know someone for a long time,
but still, you feel.
you still need a reason,
to trust them.

Why it gets alarming,
If a stranger offers help.
Though you desperately want one,
But still, you qualm to trust them.

The word betrayal,
was once a word,
To score well in exams.
But as you grew, you tasted betrayal.
And now you can't trust anyone,
not even yourself.

Never trust anyone.
Don't expect anything from anyone,
Is becoming people's slogan.

Unknowingly,
they are becoming a part of that aversion.
They didn't even realize.
They themselves are telling people,
Not to trust them.

I really want to walk in that meadow,
Where virtuous life actually existed.
Just to see and absorb,
How different our lives would have been,
if it really existed.

Altruism is a word now,
That exists only in the dictionary.
Even if you witness someone,
You doubt his personality.

The sacrifice of a candle,
The fragrance of a flower.
They just can't fit among us,
As we are becoming above all.
