You spend almost 8 to 10 hours of your everyday life other than the weekend working. So it is a must for you to learn how to enjoy office work if you don’t know.

Otherwise, you will collapse under the debris of the monotony. If you love your job then it is more likely that you are going to get success at your workplace.

Work helps you to earn money. It will be wonderful if you learn ways to love your job because it is helping you to live a lifestyle that you desire.

But it’s difficult for people to stay happy at work these days. Maybe because of the work pressure or because that is not what they want from life or maybe because it’s not giving them the freedom that they want.

And still, they are doing that. But we have to keep in mind, we cannot excel in something that we are hating to do. If you hate your job, your success will hate you too and will not accompany you.

Before starting my practicing career as an architect I was working for an organization. When I switched my job I got two offers one offered me almost 35% more than the other company. But it was mainly into project management and I wanted to do designing because I wanted to start my practicing career as an Architect.

At that time it was very difficult for me to reject that offer to be very honest, I was skeptical about my decision for a couple of months.

But today when I look back I think I made the right decision at that time. I had the vision to start my practicing work as an Architect and the job that I joined helped me to learn a lot of things.

So, what are you doing right now maybe it’s not giving you the joy that you want from life but it might lead you there if you follow the path. See the bigger picture.

02-MAKE DAILY GOALS

A person who has goals in his life grows with time. Write down your daily and weekly goals and stick to it. It will help you to keep you work on track and systemized.

If you are writing your daily goals then there is a huge possibility that you will complete all your task on time and will not forget anything important.

Write down your daily and weekly goals and then get through them in the evening and at the end of the week to check.

03-REGULAR CHECK YOUR PROGRESS

If you want to stay happy at work then tracking your progress can be another crucial step you can take. It will give you a clear idea of your performance and the strategies that you should be taking to improve.

If you are monitoring your progress on a regular basis then you are more likely to succeed at your workplace. You should know what you are today and what you want to become because then only you will find out ways to reach there.

Knowing your depth is very important for growth and when you will see yourself progressing it will energize you and will make you love your job.

04-TAKE IT EASY

Take work as work. Devote your 200% when you are working, but when you return from work, keep your work behind. If you will bring your problems with you at your home, then at one point you will start hating your job.

This is a life skill that you have to learn. This skill is going to help you in every aspect of life. Set your priorities. If you are being asked to join some other work, evaluate the time you have and how is it going to affect your ongoing task.

If you are being given some unrealistic deadlines or being asked to do something which is not your core, or you have so many things on your plate and can’t afford to have more, learn to say ‘No’ there.

Don’t hesitate of being judged for being uncooperative. Be gentle, be calm and simply tell them the reason for saying ‘No’ to them. It is going to help you to perform better in your ongoing task and will save you from unwanted burdens.

Now, this doesn’t mean that you keep running away from your responsibilities. Analyze the situation, use your judgment and then make a decision. If your company needs you, be there. It’s your company too. So just don’t shrug off in case of an emergency.

10-KEEP LEARNING

When you learn something new you are exercising your brain, which can help improve cognitive functions such as concentration, attention to detail, memory recall, and problem-solving.

Learning is a skill that you have to learn if you want to love your job. Focus on learning new things. Things that will help you to move further in your professional career. It will give you a sense of achievement. And this feeling will be very rewarding at your workplace.

You must have heard this thing, if you want to be someone that you have never been before, you have to do things that you have never done before. Keep on learning new things and it is not very difficult these days. The Internet has made our lives so easy.

Be willing to learn new things if you want to be updated with the changing trend. And you will see your career graph accelerating in an upward direction.

11-DON’T TAKE IT PERSONALLY

While working in the office, there will be a time when you will make mistakes and might be yelled at because of that. Your boss might question your capabilities. One step on how to enjoy office work at that time will be to stop taking it personally. You are a human being and you can’t do everything perfectly all the time.

And it can happen to anyone. Don’t let that incident take away your joy at work. Take it as a challenge and work towards improvement and perform better.

Don’t become someone who is habituated to poor performance and became thick skin. Keep your dignity intact and concentrate on how you can perform better.

12-TAKE OWNERSHIP OF YOUR WORK

Remember one thing, if you can’t take responsibility for small things, you don’t deserve bigger things in your life. And in case you have been given an opportunity to take charge of something big, you will mess it up because of your irresponsible attitude.

A person who takes ownership of every task assigned to him will be happier at work because he will have the feeling that he is contributing his best to the company.
