If you know how to keep yourself motivated every day, then you will find a solution to any problem you face in your life. Motivation drives you towards your goals.

Keeping yourself motivated even in tough times is a life-changing skill that one should learn. Motivation helps you to work even if nobody is looking with strong determination even in tough times.

Let us know what is motivation first? Motivation is an urge from within to accomplish something, without any external push. If you are motivated in your life, you will find a solution to any problem. You will enjoy every challenge that will come on your way because you will not take it as a difficulty but will it face it as an opportunity that will help you to grow.

HOW DO I KEEP MYSELF MOTIVATED EVERY DAY?

Last year was not really a good year for most people. But it really worked well for me. I became a mother and I started on a work that I have been thinking about for a long… long time.

I published my first book by compiling all my poems that really boosted my confidence in my writing skill. 

These days I am struggling really hard to maintain a balance between work, personal life and also taking care of the house. And it’s really not easy. 

Becoming a mother itself is a huge responsibility and I am trying to sustain my professional world at the same time which is becoming a task now.

I try a few tips that really work for me to keep me motivated all the time. One has to be motivated in their life. Because every day is passing by and time is flying whether you want it or not. 

So either you cry or whine about your hard times or you do something that inspires you and motivates you to get along with your hard time with a smile on your face. 

This really works for me and I hope it works for you the same.

How to keep yourself motivated every day?

1.Accept the fact that you are not motivated

Admitting the fact that you’re not motivated and you really need something from outside that will inspire you, will really help you. Unless you know the problem, you will never try to find a solution for it.

So, the first and most important thing that you should do is to accept the fact that you are not motivated and you will do everything to bring yourself on the right track.

2.Having a positive approach towards life

Yes, there will be a time when things will not work the way you want. Yes, you are going to face set-back which will hit you hard and you will not see any way out. 

But every day is not the same and every day is a new day. Having faith that tomorrow is going to be a better day than yesterday will keep you rolling with a smile on your face. 

This is going to be the best medicine that comes for free. If you are having a positive approach towards the difficulty you are facing and you are taking it as an opportunity to learn something new, your perspective towards that situation will change and will give you the motivation to keep going with a smile on your face.

Having hope is much.. much… better than having no hope at all.

3. Have a purpose in your life

A person with no purpose in his life is a wanderer with no direction and eventually, he is not going to lead anywhere. 

Have a purpose in your life that will drive you to become a better version of yourself. Which will drive you to be someone whom you can look at and be proud of. 

It will motivate you to keep on moving forward even though you are facing a lot of difficult times. 

A person with a purpose is always motivated because he knows where he is going and he’ll never let any obstacle defeat him or de-motivate him.

4.Set goals and track your goals

Setting goals in your life is as important as having a purpose. You won’t be able to achieve anything in your life, if you don’t have clear written goals. Your dreams can be overwhelming and you might feel de-motivated seeing yourself not going anywhere near to them.

But if you set a small, achievable goal for yourself, and when you achieve it, you will be delighted and motivated at the same time.

Seeing yourself not going anywhere is one of the reasons what causes lack of self-motivation.

Also at the same time, track your goals. Be disciplined and rigid about fulfilling the goal that you set. Because when you will achieve it, it will you have a sense of accomplishment of finishing a task and it will give a motivation to move a little further.

Your goals have to be S.M.A.R.T. (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Time-sensitive).

5. Consider yourself as a learner

You are not a God, you are just a human being who can make mistakes. Be someone who learns from his mistakes. Your mistakes should never let you hold back because they give you an opportunity to grow. It tells you that you are doing something new and when you will learn it, you will become better than yesterday.

Be a learner. Accept the fact that you don’t know everything. Give your best in whatever you are doing and even if you make mistakes don’t give up. You have a long way to go and it will be a teeny tiny thing when you will look back.


Everybody needs motivation and everybody needs some kind of inspiration. It leads to self-improvement, self-growth, and self-discovery. 6.Give yourself a grieving time

It’s ok to be fragile sometimes. Yes, situations are harsh and you can cry about it.

Give yourself a grieving time. When things don’t go the way you want and you feel disheartened and discouraged, sit down for a while and if you feel like crying, cry. It will help you to take out all the pain, all the sadness that you have within you, and will light your heart for a while.

 During this phase of your life, never lose hope. Every darkness is followed by light, keep this in your mind and take a step forward.

7. Do something that you like

Nothing is better than living the life that you want. Do things that you like. Yes, there are so many things that you have to do every day but taking out time for the thing that you enjoy the most will take away the pain that you might face on your path.

I love to talk and I love to spread positivity. but as you all know I am an Architect and interior designer I rarely get time to do things to do this. 

So I have started writing positive things and also these days I have started making videos where I share my experiences and I am loving it.

8.Thinking both positive and negative side

One has to be positive about life. A positive person with a positive mindset will always be motivated. But there is more to that- a positive motivation and a negative motivation.

A positive motivation focuses on the positive things that will happen in your life when you take the action. It will help you to get up early in the morning even when you slept late. It will push you forward even in your hard times because through positive motivation you can see the reward that you can achieve if you achieve your goal.

Negative motivation focuses on negative things that will happen in your life if you won’t take action. Keeping the negative in your mind will help you to get up even if you fall because it will give you the fear of losing something.

When I started my practicing career as an Architect I not only wrote down things that I could achieve if I didn’t quit on my dreams but at the same time, I also wrote a few things that will happen if I give up. I never wanted to go back to my regular job, so it was a nightmare for me to think about giving up on what I started.

9.Work on personal growth

If you’re working on yourself consistently, then you are becoming better and better every day.

And nothing is better than seeing yourself growing. This will motivate you to make things happen.

There are so many self-help books available, so many videos available that you can watch and learn. So start the journey of your personal development and track your growth and then you will never find yourself unmotivated. 

10. Start your day with something positive.

I just cannot tell you how much it helped me in my life. Starting my day with something positive, listening to something positive gives me new energy that keeps me going even though I face any difficulty on my way.

Listening to something positive is my morning ritual now. Quitting my job and starting something adventurous was not easy for me in the beginning. So adopting this incredible habit made my life a lot easier. 

There are times when I lose the work that I was supposed to get, there are times when I face betrayal at my work but starting my day with something positive gives me energy which helps me to keep on moving forward.

It going to be hard, but hard doesn’t mean impossible

Conclusion

You need motivation in every aspect of life. Be it getting up early in the morning, preparing a healthy meal for yourself, having a healthy relationship with your dear one, or being focused on your goals and vision. A lack of motivation will lead to depressed life, a life that you will never want to live but are forced to.

So just don’t drag yourself. For a happy and successful life, you have to find ways to keep yourself motivated. And it’s really not difficult. It is all within you. Just spend a little more time with yourself. 🙂

11. Learn to complete the task

Learn to finish things that you have started. Even if it a small, finish that first before you start doing another thing. I will give you accomplishment and a sense of achievement.

Finishing things is a habit, that you have to develop. It will inspire you to gear up for another task. So stop multi-tasking and focus on one thing at a time and when you complete that switch to another task.

This habit really helped me in my life. If I have to design even a simple table, I like to finish it first before I switch to another task. And this habit helps me to finish my work on time.

12. Have a vision in your life

Nothing feels better than seeing yourself somewhere where you really want to be. People ask,‘ why having a vision is important?’ Having a vision gives you a purpose in your life, which further helps you to set goals, evaluate your progress, and will keep you focused.

I wanted to be known as an ‘Architect and Interior Designer’. I wanted people to know ‘Ar. Naseema Khatoon’. And my this vision was the most important factor that pushed me forward and made me not to give up even when I couldn’t find anything good happening in my life at beginning of my practicing career.

Be prepared to fail

You are going to fail many times before you will learn to fly. So be prepared to face failure in your life. How to face failure in your life is another very important skill that you have to learn. Your failure should not be the reason for you to stop, but it should be something that helps you to improve and grow.

Everybody fails in the beginning. So don’t consider yourself special that you won’t face any failure in your way. If you are subconsciously prepared to face any setback, you are more likely to rise after a fall.

Why you failed, in the beginning, is the question you should ask and then after finding the question, find a solution and then work on it. Just don’t sit back and procrastinate like a loser.

Success is not final, failure is not fatal, it is the courage to continue that counts.
