FRAGILE STRENGTH

I’m a girl,
fragile in form,
my strength fades
when power is the norm.

I won’t lie,
fear grips my heart,
my pulse quickens
when shadows start.

I get confused
in choices I make,
I want, then doubt,
my own feelings shake.

Yes, it’s me—
emotional and shy,
tears fall easily,
I don’t know why.

But...

Don’t judge me
by how I react;
I’m God’s creation,
whole and intact.
Made with care,
in a special way,
fragile yet fierce,
in love I stay.

Though I cry,
my spirit’s strong;
I nurture your world,
where I belong.

Like the air you breathe,
you’ll miss me, you’ll see;
without me here,
you’ll know misery.

I make the world
bright and light,
bringing joy
wherever I might.

I add color,
to everything you view;
without me,
it's dull and blue.

I’m like the sea,
too deep to know;
you think you see me,
but there's more below.

Fragile, emotional,
confused, unsure—
these are my beauty,
and I’m worth much more.

So don’t test me,
you don’t know my fight;
beneath this soft surface,
there's a warrior in sight.
