Poem- The dark life_ This is a short poem in English, that puts light on the life of beggars.
Have you wondered what’s the life of a person living in the darkness is like…??!! What is the life of a beggar is like….??!!
Imagine a life with darkness all around. Darkness is like the grave in which you feel you are trapped and can’t see even a single ray of light leaving its trail that you will follow to find your way out.
Imagine a life in which you feel suffocated, alienated, and couldn’t breathe. It’s the air that is killing you from inside but still, you are forced to drag yourself every day to live. You are forced to breathe in the air that you never dreamt of when you opened your eyes and entered this world.
The doctor’s childhood dreams to become a doctor, an engineer’s child wants to be an engineer, an artist’s child wants to become an artist but what would be the dream of the child of a beggar!
They are born in the marsh and are trapped in that quagmire throughout their life. The innocent child soon becomes the victim of the harsh reality of living a downtrodden life, killing their soul every day, and soon it stops breathing. But they are still dragging themselves forcing themselves to live the life they never wanted.
Is there any way out? Can they find a ray of hope holding which they can pass through the gallows reprieving anonymity?
THE DARK LIFE Life of sorrow, the life of grief. Slouching people, with no relief. Their eyes are hazy, no dreams reside. They live their life like, no purpose to abide. Draconian reality, hits them hard. They opened their eyes, and find themselves in the marsh. Now their soul is on the pyre, with lots of ire. What to ask for when they lost their desire. From darkness to light. there has to be a way out. Abominate scrounge, and seek for sunlight. The frog from the well will surely come out. If he comes to know, how beautiful the outside world God has drawn out. Naseema Khatoon
