This poem tells the story of the destiny of a pink bird trapped in a golden cage life that seems beautiful on the outside but is filled with silent longing within. The bird watches others soaring freely in the sky, marveling at their courage and joy.
Though she has wings, her confinement has made her doubt her ability to fly. Her yearning for freedom grows, but every attempt to break free reminds her of the painful reality of her limits.
Despite the struggle, she refuses to give up, knowing that even if freedom is unattainable, surrendering without a fight would be a greater loss.
THE DESTINY OF THE PINK BIRD
It was a cage,
with golden bars.
Its beautiful luster
can be seen from far.
The pink bird was sitting there,
with her eyes outside.
With awe in her eyes,
she saw many birds
playing and diving in the sky.
Flying high,
challenging the sky.
Staring at the scorching sun,
leaving every fear behind them.
Sometimes,
they flew towards the sun.
Sometimes,
they fall, like the wind.
Their show was completely gripping
With open eyes,
the pink bird felt she was dreaming.
She too had wings,
but she didn't know she could fly.
All her life she was caged,
she thought that's her life,
and she couldn't rise.
With watering eyes,
she gazed at the sky.
Wondering how her life would be
if she was alike.
Forgetting her present,
she spread her wings.
But reality hit her hard
and she got stung by the bars.
From her swollen eyes,
one tear rolls down.
She was trapped in a beautiful cage.
That offered her things,
that she never craved.
And took something,
That she always desired.
She was not a warrior,
But didn't want to surrender like that.
Moaning and whining and thinking,
how beautiful her life would be,
if she could fly high
without sinking.
With all her courage
she hit those bars,
Yes, it was painful for her today,
and it might give her a scar.
Being caged could be her destiny,
She might not get away with that.
But giving up, without trying,
She was not ready to live a life like that.
